Nexus Monkey – the negative effects of listening (CD-R)

This is a new Florida collaboration \ duo from the minds behind `Vasectomy Party`(harsh noise solo artist) and the `Black Beast Of Arrrghhh`(noise \ experimental noise). There`s one track on this here CD but it`s a long one indeed (+ 30 minutes). Raw noisy dirges mixed with some minimally dark and spacey synth running in the background. I`m getting squashed by a  gigantic wall of noise, while at the same time some spacey synth is slowly, but surely puncturing what`s left of me poor brains. I love this!!! Good stuff indeed. Give me some more. I want it, I want it, I want it!!!  Limited edition of twenty copies. This baby`s long gone for sure, sorry about your damn luck.. Forecast & Toxic Bliss (split tape)

I recently got my filthy hands on this rare, highly limited edition 25 copies cassette. This tape has two  sidelong tracks. Lets start with: `Forecast` which is the minimalist, natural disaster themed project of Sisto Rossi ( of Houses In Texas, Wallkeeper and Hatred). The track `stormclouds` (8.22 minutes)  sounds like a thunderstorm  recorded at full volume. He then `normalized` the track to make it even louder than before. It sounds like harsh noise with acoustic \ almost analogue undertones, brilliant stuff. Last but not least we have `Toxic Bliss`, a noise wall onslaught of Mitchell Rotunno (of Tjere and Untitled Productions).  The tracks name is `untitled`(11.29 minutes). It starts nice and  slow with some relaxing ambient noise , then it becomes louder and louder, harsher and harsher, damned my poor ears. Relentless harsh noise. This is not my cup of tea. It`s not bad, don`t get me wrong. But I heard soooo much noise which sounds the same. I like some variety in me noise menu. I recommend this if  you like old Merzbow,  MSBR, The Haters, GX Jupitter-Larsen, Con-Dom, and Sonic Disorder. More info here:  http://foreverescapingboredom.bandcamp.com/album/forecast-toxic-bliss-split-3

Breakdancing Ronald Reagan & Whitey Alabastard (split tape)

This is a short tape (under twenty minutes)  with a limited edition of 36 copies (it`s probably sold out as we speak). On side one we have `Breakdancing Ronald Reagan - he though everything was people`  (9.42 minutes).  It`s experimental noise with lots of fluctuating moments (orchestral electronic music, noise, spoken word, ambient noise, and lo-fi noise).  You never get bored because there`s always something moving, evolving, mutating, happening. This isn`t your typical harsh, repetitive redundant noise. Great stuff. I have to find some more. Next, we have `Whitey Alabastard  - I don`t like it `(9.47 minutes). This track offers a potent mix of ambient, almost lo- fi noise and weirdo experimental noise. The perfect soundtrack to gory, vile, violent, deranged, crazy,  post-apocalyptic movie. Hey, I would produce it (if I had cash).

There`s also types of people in the mall: beggars, old fogies, men, women, transvestites, prostitutes, weirdos and lotsa kooks. The kooks are the ones putting flyers on the walls. Here`s two flyers, scanned for your pleasure purposes…

Introduction (tales of insecurity)

Joe Nsecurity (pseudonym) has been a security guard for more than twenty years. He did it all and he`s seen it all. Joe used to work in this government owned building (more than 15 years ago). There where rumors running that the building was built on an ancient Chinese cemetery. Weird things where happening on the evening and graveyard shift: light mysteriously shutting down, objects moving without any logical explanations and bizarre sightings. The security guards filed a lot of incident reports but the bosses didn`t believe them. They also took pictures. Most of them looked really blurry. The Polaroid pictures  you are about to see where never part of any written report. In fact they don`t exist. Joe was doing spring cleaning in the security office. He found those pics in a pile of stuff to shred. They managed to mysteriously escape the shredder, disappear, and reappear in cyberspace. Here goes:

Water Wagon & Alabaster Choad (split tape)

Sometimes I get the weirdest things by mail. It goes with the territory I guess. I get this small parcel, no letter, no inserts, no information regarding the artists involved. I look at the cover and I`m thinking this is probably noise, shit noise, junk noise or experimental noise more likely. As I`m listening to this tape, I know I`m absolutely wrong here. This is music ( no noise involved whatsoever). There`s six tracks on Water Wagon`s side. The two first songs are a mixture of spoken word + guitar + drums which sounds like low-fi bedroom pop. There`s two tracks of spoken word and the last two pieces are picture perfect field recordings (great toilet flushing material). Alabaster Choad does ten songs which seems to have been done in a single recording session. These songs go all over the place. Don`t get me wrong.  This is amazing stuff. They use guitar, bass, drums and at times trumpet. It s punk oriented material. They like to explore various styles, shit punk (with a snotty attitude), hardcore and hardcore ska with hillbilly undertones (kind of Cauliflower ass & Bob on speed). More information here:

Tree – Colors & Trilogy (CD)

This rather short album (33.02 minutes)  is  a combination of two EP`s. The first one: Colors is a blend of tape manipulation with minimal electronic effects (or so it reads in the inserts). Personally, I would say that `Colors` consists of five tracks of  experimental noise, with music concrete  undertones thrown in for good measure. Sometimes the music goes into light ambient noise territory too. The second one: Trilogy is live minimal  electronics oriented music. This three song EP is definitely my favorite material. Minimal electronics collides with echoing effects (flanger perhaps), + bizarre experimentations \ manipulations  = ambient, minimal noise bliss ( I love this stuff). For more information feel free contacting Josh Boutwell (he`s Tree). Maybe you can buy a copy of this or possibly a trade, who knows for sure. What are you waiting for?
